Football Science Fair Projects
It is a sport that is loved by individuals of all ages, genders, and nationalities. American football is a sport of contact, accuracy, endurance, strength, and strategy. Off of the field though, football can also be used to incorporate concepts about science such as gravity, body chemistry, angles, and air pressure. Football makes learning about these somewhat tedious school taught concepts in a new light that is fun, informational, and educational. By using the basics of football and combining them with some scientific scenarios, football science fair projects are a great way to make your next project less of a drag and more of a touchdown! Here are some of our personal favorite picks for possible football science fair projects:
- Does strength training improve accuracy in football throws?
- Can sports drinks improve an athlete's performance as compared to water? If so, why?
- How much difference does the spiraling motion of a well-thrown football make on the distance of the throw
- Does temperature affect the impact and flight of a football?
These are some various topics that can be researched, experimented with, and used for your next science fair project. Furthermore, the great thing about incorporating football into your next science project is it is a great way to show a diverse way to study science, and provides a basis that not all science projects have to be about typical science subjects, but rather science can use various sports and other activities that make studying science easier and much more fun for all individuals across the wide spectrum of education.
