How we can incorporate our love ok cooking into a science fair project.
We all love food, and what better way to incorporate the sometimes dull and boring aspects of science with one’s passion and love for food and the various types of foods. Collaborating cooking and science is relatively easy, always fun, definitely tasty, and will deliver a strong educational background to a concept regarding science. Whether your child is in elementary or middle school, cooking and using food to explain science will always intrigue them, and help create a more wholesome experience and appreciation for science.
Some of the various projects that students can do depend on what your taste buds desire, as some of us may favor a sweeter or savory side, a healthy implementation is more than fully functional. One example of a cooking science fair project is the usage of sugar vs. sugar substitutes, and tasting what the difference and documenting the difference in calories, chemicals, and taste. Start by grabbing your favorite type of cake, and stick to using only one type of sweetener, perhaps first using sugar and afterwards using a sugar substitute. Another cool experiment is to see why your apple turns brown after you leave it out, further explaining the science behind how it turns brown, and why it does. Food can be incorporated into a science fair project with ease. There are a multitude of various projects one can look for, above are some of our favorites, however there are plenty more out there!
