Balloon Science Fair Projects
|
|
|
Balloons are a staple in science fair projects, since the beginning of science fair project time. They are a useful tool to demonstrate your showcase regarding various fields of science such as chemistry or physics. Furthermore, balloons have a multitude of purposes, and give a sense of a comedic relief once you see your balloon fly, pop, or expand.
- Needle through a balloon
- This project works with the concepts of polymers within the plastic of the balloon, by using some various hardware items, it is actually possible to put a needle through the balloon and not have it pop. Grab some petroleum jelly and cellophane tape for this one, and start to poke away.
- Fire Proof Balloon
- Put fire to most things and they will start to melt, pop, or catch fire. As for balloons that’s a given, however, by using the concept of heat capacity, when filling one of your balloons up with some water and air, the match or lighter will actually not harm the balloon at all
- Gas powered balloon
- You don’t always have to fill up a balloon with water or air, sometimes you can experiment and you never know what may happen. In the case of the gas powered balloon, by taking some simple items such as baking soda and vinegar, you can have an explosion all of your own to replicate as many times as you want!
